Nine People on Four Food Paths

You may not have thought it possible... But at the moment we have four food paths ("diets") going on here at the Compound. It became noticeable when Matt and Nana started a detox-raw-foods thing a week or so ago. That put Tracy and Jamie on a separate path, the kids on their path, and Robob stayed, of course, on his unique path. There is overlap now and then, but that doesn't seem to make the logistics any easier. What's really going to make all this very interesting is that the kitchen gets demolished this coming week and will be "out of service" for three weeks during the remodel. Veggies and dairy and fruit, oh my!...

And please, don't leave the internet connection unplugged when you use the blender. (We network over the AC electrical system.)

The kitchen did get a mega food processor out of the deal.

I think Robob will be moving up the schedule on his kitchen installation, too.

Flying Truer

Under Dad's watchful eye, Sam and Serafina got some archery practice in this afternoon. And they are getting much better - the arrows are flying much truer!

Using Your Resources...

It was about a month before two boat racing events that the kids would be doing, and Tracy had a brainstorm...

What if we got Uncle Trevor, the engineer, to help with a boat?! So, beyond the Compound walls we reached to other resources. Actually, it wasn't that far. He lives in the area. And oh my gosh, the boat he came up with! It was the talk of the town at both events. "Serafina didn't make that, did she?" Uh, no. But she and Sam sure enjoyed racing it. She received a first place award at one event, and Sam clearly outpaced the herd at another.

Valentine Helper

One nice thing about having all the folks of various ages around here is that one can almost always find someone that'll get excited about helping. In this case, Serafina was all over helping Nana prepare Valentines for Nana's class.

Winery Discoveries in our Own Backyard

Bob, Sandy, Lynn, and Jamie headed out in search of (very) local wineries that we had not been to before. And struck pay dirt at all three: Clesi Wines, Stephen Ross Wine Cellars, and Kynsi Winery.

All the photos, links to the wineries, etc. are here: http://jf2.com/120205/

Along the Bob Jones Trail

We headed out for a little hike this morning along the Bob Jones Trail from the Avila Bay Club to the playground at the Sea Life Center in Avila. Great way to enjoy the day and to burn off some kid energy.

Insta - Friday

Yes Insta- Friday is back! For those of you who didn't follow my other blog this is a fun little Friday blog party where I link up with my friends blog, liferearranged.com, and we all share pictures from our week that we took with our cell phones. It is a fun way to see the week in review. So with out further ado Tracy's week via cell phone pics:

On Friday (a week ago) I wanted to give a friend a bunch of socks, I know random. Since sock themselves are not that exciting I thought they need a creative wrap, thus came..sock pops!  Amazed at how cute they turned out a picture was a must.

And as must of you know I celebrated my birthday.  For my birthday Matt took me away for the night! Which included a stop at my favorite cupcake shop in Los Olivos, Enjoy! LOVE.

The next day we spent the day at Ikea where we got awesome new highchair for the twins :

Here they are testing them out Monday! They are perfect, small foot print, light weight, and fold flat for storage. Yes it is the small things in life.

Speaking of...Serafina was very excited because I found her and Hannah matching outfits. "The Girls" were very styling.

For some reason this bird, who probably doesn't need an introduction. has been a major player in our house. My 4 year old loves this bad boy.  He sleeps with him, eats with him, takes him to school , to the store, awanas, you name it this bird does does it.

Including:

Playing real life angry bird.

Oh yes with parental involvement.

Yes this does include lobbing the red stuff bird as hard as you can at each other.

Yes there has been tears.

Yes I am over 30 and know better.

Yes we have so much fun we are laughing so hard it hurts by the time it we are done.

And last but not least:

Oh yeah this did happen. Sometime life is messy. But you just have to roll with the punches!

Happy Friday!
