2nd Wave to Colorado

Nana, Papa, and Serafina are the last group to head east to Colorado...

We loved the Luxor in Las Vegas

Had a great dinner at Rice & Company

At the Blue Man Group show. Fantastic, don't miss an opportunity.

At the Black Bear Diner in St. George, Utah.

Devil's Canyon.

Don't miss the fabulous drive along I-70 from Salina to Green River, Utah.
Fantastic stuff to see right from the freeway!

Can you believe this is a McDonald's!
Some little town east of Grand Junction, CO.

Last, and First

She has a rather unique distinction of having been in the last show (Oliver!) under the name SLO Little Theatre and the first show (Into the Woods Jr) under the new name SLOREP. The flowers are from Dawna Davies - love that gal.

California Update

Sides Hardware and Shoes in Los Olivos.
We also tried Enjoy Cupcakes, but they were closed by the time we got there.

Adult beverage at Sides

Calamari was a hit. So was the Bacon Steak (a specialty there).

A history of Danish Kings from Gorm the Old (900s) to now is what caught
Serafina's attention as we wandered around Solvang waiting for Newsies.
#SLOCAkid. Well, ice cream, too.

Newsies.
We had a 30-minute rain hold during the second act.

We joined the Foster grands for some rooster hunting and lunch at Villa Cantina.

Fairly wet after the brief thunderstorm. Serafina led the cousins in a
theatre game under the protection of the Heritage Bandstand.

Meanwhile, back in California...

Serafina and Jamie are staying with the Underwoods for a couple of transition weeks so she can finish Into the Woods Jr at SLOREP. Here's what some of that looked like...

Fried Twinkies at McLintocks.

Can you spot Zach in this PCPA poster?

New discovery.

Lynn's supposed to be in that empty seat.
At Filipponi Winery.

New shades that match the shoes!

Lots going on in downtown Pismo Beach.

And lots of folks on the beach today (7/30/17).

Smoked Old Fashioned.

Jamie had raw oysters, too.

More Transition

The past week has been very different. Most of the Compound traveled to Colorado behind the moving trucks and has already spent several days exploring, unloading and unpacking, putting together Ikea furniture, etc. Here's what some of it looked like...

A new neighbor dropped by...

Garden of the Gods (more below).

There's a park a couple 100 steps from the house.

Old deck table and chairs on new deck. Pikes Peak is out that way.

Temporary office set up.

Sandy took the 3-day drive and unloading in stride.

Taking a break at the new clubhouse.

Duplos - worth their weight.

Might be a favorite picture.

Yeah, there's a frozen yogurt store nearby.

Ikea.

Garden of the Gods.

All she needs is a tool belt. Arr arr arr.

Death of a Raindrop

Serafina completed 4 years of the Young People's Project Jr at PCPA Theatre, and the graduation "ceremony" is simply having each graduate die on stage (as they are now dead to the program and cannot return). Here's her death scene:

Can't be far from christening the new home...
