It was a back-to-school promise: yes, we can get another mini-golf session in before school starts. Surprisingly, this would be only our second mini-golf outing all summer. I really thought we'd be doing one every other week, at least. I guess to make up for the infrequency, we stumbled (literally) onto a course we had not been to before (in the process of trying to get to one we had been to before!). Gold Mine Mini Golf. What a hoot! We did courses 1 and 3. Suited this rock guy just fine! The boys thought it was the best ever, and the best hole ever was the one with a conveyor belt for your ball.

A sunflower next door!

We got 3 of these recently. Yum yum!

Lynn is underway with her labyrinth quilt.

Camarones Aguachiles at Vaqueros.
New. Very good! Spicy!

Best hole ever. See the conveyor belt on the right
hauling your ball (the blue dot) up and drop it into a trough
that leads right to the cup. Awesome!

Tracy finished the Liberty Puzzle
(very uniquely shaped pieces in wood).

Till South and Other Milestones

Nana and Papa visited Till South for the first time. You may recall just plain Till was a favorite of ours up north here until it got revamped into something else. Sad. But, it turns out the same folks did open, as promised, a more Till-like restaurant downtown called Till South. Very much in keeping with the old Till's unique and very tasty offerings. Lexi still waters the outdoor potted plants. She and David have been attending Eagle Lake Camp at the Club; with big grins and just enough "cash" in their account to get a snack or two. And lastly, our littlest foster child has hung up his helmet, its job is done.

Scotch Egg (how'd they do that?)

Akaushi Short Ribs

The Eagle Lake Campers came by...

The helmet's job is done.

First and foremost, the weekend was preparations for and receipt of two new family members. Two chinchillas to be exact.

Meet Jewel and Amber.

Starting with cage assembly

Taking a break to make Palisades Peach Cobbler,
or as AJ would call it, Peach Dump Cake.

Street Tacos at the Club.
That's "watermelon radish" on top.

They arrived safe and sound from the Denver area.
Matt and the two boys drove up to get them.

How they arrived.

The last touch was pine shavings.

Catching Up

It's been a while since the last post, and much has happened. Fosters got home safe and sound to an empty house. The Reguscis were up at the Gaylord all week with friends from California, got back yesterday evening.

Fosters came home to a plumbing issue. Thanks Roto-Rooter!

All fun, all week!

From the Mining Museum.

A visitor on the fountain getting water

Out of the old...

In the new.

Fosters had some friends over for dinner.

Cheesecake and great wine for dessert.

Black Forest Bistro. We forget about it too easily.
The bottom dish is sea bass with
peach and Hatch chili sauce on Asian noodles.

Neighbors are up to something.
Best guess so far: raised planter beds.

First time Jamie's visited the calves at the Ranch.

GibGuscis: 2017 top, 2021 bottom.

Thanks, A., for the tip! Smokin'!
