Lately...

We recently tried to have an all-play meal at Cracker Barrel, but the wait was over an hour so we split up. The older females went off dress-hunting for Homecoming and the rest of us had a great lunch at Colorado Mountain Brewery. Sunday night Nana and Papa got to see Hadestown in Denver. It was brand-new to us, knew nothing about it, so didn't follow it as well, but loved the music and dance, very unique, and also appreciated the redemption message. It was also the weekend of Nana and Papa's anniversary! Lastly, a shout-out to LevelFrames which made it very easy and very effective to add a new photo that blended in perfectly to a wall of very old photos (some pushing 50 years old).

Waiting for lunch.

Happy Anniversary!

From Fox Run to Asian Pacific

Lots going on this Saturday. Early on, Nana and Papa took a little hike at Fox Run Park. Then prep began for Family Dinner including Jonnie and Nana making the dessert and Matteo making the bread. The cheese fondue was a hit! And, a trip to the Asian Pacific Market may have become a new tradition for occasional visits.

Note the plume of mist above the spray.

Imagine the cones topped with ice cream
and some of the M&Ms.

More Halloween...

Making slime.

Perusing the haul from the Asian Pacific Market.

All set for Family Dinner

Halloween Fun Begins

Halloween decorations have clearly made it onto the scene! Note the new stools in the kitchen. It was actually last night that Nana and Papa met their church group friends at a Boot Barn Patio Concert.

Jamie's office view at the lake. Matteo's fishing.

Grace, Water, Bands, and Bushes

Quite a few not-so-little happenings this weekend...

Recent Topic Board for Friday Family Dinners.
We did "GRACE" this weekend.
Someone has since written "JUST" for this coming week.

Got the water table out for our newest charge.

Matteo's playing trombone in the H.S. Band!

Georgetown Loop Railroad

Nana, Papa, Griffen, and Antonio (AJ) headed off to Georgetown, CO early this morning to catch a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. The boys shared their birthday presents with each other (next is the Pikes Peak cog railway). They weren't far from home, though, before hitching up the horses at Rosie's Diner (Monument, CO) for breakfast; definitely a fan favorite. Gotta try the butterscotch milkshake. Turns out it was Wild West Days at the railroad, and you can imagine what that means with gunfire, women of all manner of repute, and the occasional train robbery. Lunch was at Cooper's on the Creek in Georgetown which turned out to be a great choice, again. This time we were actually seated along the creek and got to meet a beautiful Great Pyrenees. We topped it all off with a little ice cream treat at Josh and John's right up the street from home. All the photos are here.

Colorado Railroad Museum

Nana and Papa headed for Golden, CO today for the Golden Fina Art Festival. We were supposed to meet up with Rachel and Heather, but alas neither could make it. Nana and Papa, made it, however. They enjoyed a nice little breakfast at The Golden Hotel (which could be a future get-away!) then off to the art festival. It's a juried show so the work was all quite good; could have bought any number of things, and did end up with a couple pieces for the kitchen. With plenty of daylight left, they headed over to the Colorado Railroad Museum for a little train ride and lots of exhibits. All the day's photos are here.

Gotta remember to check out Miners Alley Playhouse.

You can tour the very large Coors facility just up the road.

"Where's your tank car, Gramps?"
That's how it got to be thus painted.

Robob, Lynn's Dad, worked for Standard Oil in Casper!

We'd never been in a bobber caboose before. Felt REALLY short.
