The show opened May 24th to a packed house, following a packed preview show the night before! We're off and running. See this article on the SLO LittleTheatre blog. The blogger mentions that she first saw Sound of Music at Radio City Music Hall when the movie first came out. Jamie did, too! He was about 12 at the time, and can remember it like it was yesterday - intermission and all.

Hey, wait, who's that playing Franz, the butler? Papa Jamie! And there's Serafina at her dressing room desk, which she needed to decorate with stuff from home (pink and green knick knacks). The three youngest Von Trapp girls got their own dressing room (really a rehearsal room) because the main women's dressing room was crowded. Tracy and Nana are still doing her hair, but Serafina is doing her own makeup now.

This whiteboard in the green room was the Journal of Funny Stuff that was said along the way. One from Serafina, which got a huge laugh by the way, came right after the cast was taking an opportunity to jokingly bag on Frau Schraeder, right after which Serafina busts out with "But I like you a little bit" holding her thumb and index finger apart just a little bit. The quote harkens back to Director Zach explaining to Serafina for character motivation that "Gretl likes Frau Schraeder - a little bit" (holding his thumb and index finger appropriately, of course). Just before the opening night show started, several SLOLT Board Members presented a flower to each of the cast and crew members.

After the Sunday performance of opening weekend (5/26/13), Serafina gives Director Zach Johnson a farewell hug. He's moving on now to PCPA where he'll be involved with three shows over the next several months. It was GREAT working with Zach, and we wish him nothing but the best in all his endeavors!

5/30/13: SLO Tribune review. "Serafina Regusci is cute as Gretl, the youngest."
