PBJRR 7.5" Donated to Bitter Creek Western

The last remaining track and right-of-way of the PB&J Railroad was pulled up today and donated to our good friends at the Bitter Creek Western Railroad (BCWRR). The 7.5″ Nipomo branch of the PB&J was the only 7.5″ gauge track on the system. Everything else was G scale and has been abandoned as well. Only mementos lay around these days, and a ton of photos. Very fond memories. We’ve already begun our enjoyment of various railroading opportunities throughout Colorado (you can follow along here and/or at To Shiny Rails). Here's the old PB&J 7.5" website.

Two switches are already being installed at BCWRR.

A Wedding in California

The Compound sent a foursome to California for Zach and Rebecca's wedding at the Howard Ranch in Paso Robles. And, of course, we took the opportunity to visit family, friends, theatre, wineries, restaurants, and the like.

Fina did not catch the bouquet, but did come terrifyingly close.

Not the first time Kerry's done this!

Direct hit.

Who's that imp on the right?

Where we once lived is now for sale, again. $5.9 million.
The house we lived in was torn down and a crazy big house and guest
house were added covering nearly every square foot of land.

AJ Turns 8

We celebrated AJ's birthday this evening with family dinner night at the club (chicken parmesan) followed by cake and presents at the house. More photos here.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Matt took Serafina, of course. And Jamie took Tracy. We were the only such foursome. (Matt/Fina photo coming...)

Spring is upon us, from a window at the dance.

Fire, Snow, and Outpatient Surgery

Jonny's outpatient procedure came first. They wanted to scope way down his throat to check for possible causes of his throat clearing. All clear. Couple little things to watch, but no biggy. Then it snowed, and among other things, the adult boys managed to have a gar at the firetable watching it snow some more. We watched some cool YouTubes of DIY terrariums that last decades on self-contained ecosystems.

The stank eye was because he was hungry and couldn't have food pre-op.

Oh yeah, and this pic was for Jon.

Snow Plowing

We got a little snow last Thursday night into Friday morning and thought that was pretty much it. But Saturday morning brought the scene shown below. It was pretty much all gone by Sunday evening and today's high will be in the 70s.

Lexi played it safe inside with E. Bunny for a while, but later...

Jonny plowed a path.

Pre plowing.
