Day 421

Lynn and Jamie went to the lot where their car is stored (pending an estimate for repairs) to retrieve personal items. To deaden the pain, they stopped at a favorite place, La Baguette French Bistro, on the way home. As good as ever! Matt is in Dallas visiting Sam where Sam is doling out vaccines. Too bad it's not really Central Perk, right?! With the shortage of adult power and shortage of cars, we did cancel a couple things today (like Jamie's horses), but we did manage to get some stuff in like AJ's baseball practice (which involved a little rain).

Day 420

A day that will live on in infamy. Our little GLA250 is on life support; may not make it. Papa and Matteo were on their way home from Matteo's van stop when a car turned left in front of them at Interquest (83) and Powers (21). Not much in the way of injuries, some soreness and nose raspberries from the airbag, but the car is probably dead. I'm about halfway through the book which reminds me of another significant book, Ecological Sanity (sadly out of print). That one was trying to get sanity back in the environmental discussion. This one, Return of the God Hypothesis, shows that three key scientific understandings point to God: 1. the universe did have a beginning, including time, 2. the fine-tuning of the physics of the universe, and 3. the coding in DNA. Both books are well-argued and incredibly well documented (footnoted). No school today for the DCC kids. Their time for testing is tomorrow.

Day 419

Lexi and AJ walked with Papa to school this morning. Found a couple of new flowers along the way (had been only dandelions till today). Also came upon a crew trimming trees. After school, Matteo and AJ went fishing at Monument Lake. Decent temps, but quite windy. No luck, but they did meet someone who had caught a couple trout so they're really motivated now. The water level was as high as I have ever seen it. In fact, it was going over the spillway, so I guess that's max.

Day 418

Sorry, only one pic today, thanks to Lynn. Lots of medical and therapist appointments. Horse PT for David (last session for the time being). Lexi tennis. AJ baseball. Torah Time at the firepit. Fina went to a DCC concert this evening. Really good salad at lunch with leftover steak, greens (including arugula), cherry tomatoes, and avocado. And breakfast for dinner (eggs and sausage) is always a hit with everyone.

Freshly groomed dogs...

Day 417

The Colorado mask mandate was to have lifted today. Rather, it got extended to June something. Not unlike mandates everywhere getting extended, like TSA mask requirements into September. It's now 417 days to flatten the curve in two weeks. Before school, AJ checked out his petri dish from the chemistry experiments we did a couple weeks ago ("let dry 2 weeks"); see the first pic below. Snow! We probably got over 3 inches but it went away fairly quickly - and did not stop Jamie from getting some fireside time. Lynn's friend, Marie, came over to help with knitting and puzzling. Tracy made substantial progress on her puzzle, too. Matt whipped up a great steak dinner with Brussels and broccoli. Nana and Papa took Fina to her Sound of Music rehearsal at the Ballet Society's Falcon location. Since we were "way out there" for 1.5 hours, we looked for a hangout - and found one! Frankie's, Too. Served our needs perfectly!

Day 416

Off to church! Then to Vaqueros for lunch with a Fina dropoff at theater rehearsal on the way. It's blocking day. After church the weather went north on us, so activities were limited to indoors. Jamie's reworked his approach to offering Torah talks, and he's calling it "Torah Talks." Check it out: TorahTalks.info.

2nd or 3rd walkable Sunday in a row!

A color a day, that's all we ask.

Day 415

Nana's learning to knit! A 9am baseball game was first on the agenda. Then lunch and a trip to the pool for the kids. Jamie went to the world's worst board meeting in Castle Rock (took 3 hours to do 30 minutes of work). Nana and Papa ran up to Bistro on 2nd for dinner - always great! And Papa had a cigar with his Prager Torah studies, after sunset ended Shabbat, of course. Torah study is great for Shabbat, but not the fire to light the cigar.

Lynn's learning to knit.

Lexi made friends at the baseball game.
