Putnam County 25th Annual Spelling Bee

The show opened this evening! Wow, it even notched up tenfold from the final dress rehearsal (when these pics were taken)! What a hoot! Here are some photos of Fina, playing Logainne "Schwartzy" SchwartzandGrubenierre; she's the youngest contestant at ten years of age. The show runs through Saturday at DCC Theater.

Schwartzy has quite a lisp.

Schwartzy often signed what she was saying/doing.

Her spelling technique involves
drawing the letters on her arm.

"How about we follow the ruleths!"

The song "Goodbye" was somewhat
bittersweet. Last show for the seniors.

AJ's Recital, and more...

Lots going on including the buildup to Fina's show at DCC (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). AJ did a great job at his voice recital this week, He sang Erie Canal and Electricity (from Billy Elliot).

Dart Wars!

David and Jonathan's 2023 birthday celebration wrapped up today with friends and family at Dart Wars (just down the hill from us). It was a blast!

Getting instructions...

In the arena.

Sunday, February 26, 2023

It was a very quiet Sunday except for Papa, Nana, and Matteo getting out to see The Lion King Jr. at Wasson Academic Campus Auditorium (a new venue for us) produced by Christian Youth Theater Colorado Springs.

Papa, Nana, and Matteo went this afternoon.

And they hit Basil and Barely on the way home!
We don't get here often enough...

"Chef's Choice Pizza"
You tell 'em what you don't want and they surprise you!
This was an "Italian Sub" pizza; Matteo loved it.

Could be a Book Club venue...

Basketball, Focus, and Ezekiel's Wheel

Something of a big Saturday... In the morning, Lexi had her last basketball game of the season. Check out the team pic and her medal photo (further below). While that game was happening, Nana and Papa were over at Focus on the Family volunteering for a conference that Focus was hosting, Resist the Drift (about keeping marriages healthy). Family Dinner was tonight on the topic of Ezekiel's wheel vision. For the whole story (it's pretty good...) and more photos on Ezekiel's wheel, go here.

That's some medal, but I think she liked the cupcake better.

Only an Omer (Odyssey of the Mind person)
would depict "BRILLIANT" this way!

Bagel breakfast for the Focus volunteers.
