Day 392

Our last outing with Sandy and Syd (before their return to CA) was to the new U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum downtown. If you're into the Olympics, you need to go. If you're interested in the latest technologies for museums of any kind, you need to go. And I didn't mind that we ate lunch overlooking a rail yard beneath us, a park across the way, and Pikes Peak in the background. Pretty good food at their Flame Cafe, too. AJ got going today on using the new exercise bike. Tonight's movies: The Sapphires and The Founder, both real-lifers.

Fina's show at DCC opened tonight: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Fina co-choreographed the one dance number in the show and understudied all five female roles! See the Theatrics page. Sorry for the lack of pics; I wasn't asked to photograph a dress rehearsal this time.

I could read the Hebrew despite the unusually
shaped lamed (in my limited experience).

We ate more Wheaties just because of this.

Day 391

Beautiful day for a trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! All those photos are here. Later the adults took a little side trip to 300 Days of Shine in Monument, CO. They make moonshine, some really fun ones, too. Apple Pie, Peach Cobbler, and Firebomb (cinnamon) were favorites. We had no idea this was here till Lynn did a search for distilleries. AJ's baseball team had its second game of the season this evening. They lost, not by much, and AJ was very excited to tell us about his hitting a double and stealing home.

Day 390

Right in the middle of a gorgeous week... Snow! It actually was a little exciting for our California visitors. The morning was for the salon and lunch was at P.F. Chang's. Bread and butter was a big hit for dinner, as was the salmon Matt prepared and Lynn's salad. Tonight's movie: K-9.

Day 389

We picked up Sandy and Sydney at the Colorado Springs Airport and went immediately to a new place for lunch, CO.A.T.I. It's a new take on a food court; check it out. AJ went to Art Club after school today. And one of the foster twins tried on his new shoes and braces - and went nuts standing and walking with a push toy. He's on his feet! We ended the day with a fabulous dinner at the Club.

Day 388 Easter

Easter Sunday! Pretty fun morning at Sunday School, and packed as you might imagine, They even did an Odyssey of the Mind-like activity in Elementary ("using only these materials, build a bridge..."). Then it was Easter at Home! The pics below will give you some idea... All the day's pics are here. And very special Easter donuts from Happy Hour Donuts. Don't miss the last couple of photos below... A photo showed up on Facebook today with Fina and her Mom on stage in Annie (some years ago in CA). It was very rare to catch Tracy on stage, she was usually running backstage operations. And lastly, the back patio fountain was turned on today! Tonight's movie: Selfless.

The capes were a big hit.

Fina as Annie. But who's that back right?!

Day 387

Happy Sabbath! Jonnie got going on The Brain Train that we got at the Royal Gorge the other day. Tracy and crew got Easter goodie bags ready for church tomorrow. There was also some home prep for Easter including clothes, baskets, chocolate, books, etc. AJ's baseball team, The Yard Goats, tied their first game of the season this year, 2-2. All the baseball pics are here. Thank you to Rock'n Roll-Offs, LTD for sponsoring the team. Then we went out to School in the Woods (SITW) to join a couple of AJ's cohorts this year to get plant photos for a project at DCC. All the SITW photos are here. Nana whipped up a great dijon mustard chicken thing for dinner. Tonight's movies: Jesus Christ Superstar and Pitch Perfect.

Blue dye!

In a wiki-up.

He will always love School in the Woods.

Day 386

School Day. Matt took AJ to the new Scheel's for baseball equipment. And some very fancy baseball underwear that protects when sliding into a base. Jamie went to his horse volunteering gig and learned a new thing: lunging. It's a way to exercise a horse without being on its back, the horse goes around you in a circle on a long lead. Our leader got Hannah up to a trot speed-wise. Tonight's movie: Triumph of the Heart (the Ricky Bell story).
