Day 429

Huge day for AJ - Royal Gorge Route Railroad! It was a birthday present that Matteo got to enjoy, too. But before we get there... The day started with an AJ baseball game. He played well, but the team lost. As AJ put it, it was a "mercy stop" to the game when the other team got 10 runs ahead. Nana and Papa ran Fina out to her rehearsal in Falcon and had lunch at Nana's Kitchen (what a coincidence!). AJ also had a rehearsal for 3 hours, his first coming in cold after the casts had been rehearsing for about 2 weeks. He did super well. Then the big event, the train ride he's been waiting for since the twins got to do it a couple months ago. And boy did he, and we, have a great time. Oh, and Cold Stone ice cream on the way home. All the pics are here. We got home about 11pm.

Day 428

Remember the very yellow dandelions Lexi picked on the way to school a week or so ago? Well, they've matured. Nana and Papa closed the deal on their new car (may the GLA rest in peace). It was a 4.5 hour process; Jamie barely made it to horses - with the new car! And Lexi found peace swinging to her music.

Day 427

Still trying to get clarity on whether the car has been totaled officially or not. Don't want to end up with two cars. The day ended unclearly but with an appointment tomorrow morning at the Lexus dealer to do paperwork. Tracy went to another non-visitation with the foster kids, and the appointments with docs and therapists continue unabated. AJ had a game this evening. He's lovin' baseball. Jamie got some Biblical Hebrew language materials to supplement the Great Courses materials. The workbook should prove very helpful. We've been watching 24 for weeks now...

Thanks for the pics, Matt!

Day 426

Nana and Papa went off car shopping again. By the way, their little car is officially totaled. The replacement could well be pictured below. While car shopping, they lunched at Panino's; you should see/try their Italian Nachos - yum! Thanks, Patrick and Trebor! We also celebrated a birthday today with a new cake recipe - a Keto "best ever" chocolate cake. Even the kids liked it. It was surprisingly good! And speaking of Keto, I ran across a PragerU video that applies: How the Government Made You Fat. Harkens back to Sugar Blues, a book we were introduced to by Lynn's step-dad decades ago. This book did for us in the dietary world what Ecological Sanity did for us in the enviro/political world (another book he shared with us decades ago). Today was also swim lessons for Jonnie and Lexi, and a dinner out for Tracy and Matt.

This might be the Fosters' new car...

Day 425

Snow! I didn't get many pics again, but the day was quite active, including Lexi's tennis lesson. Well, the dogs were fairly quiet. Lunch at Walter's! Nana and Papa checked out the Toyota Venza today...

Day 424

Another great lunch at Sushi Ato! Spring is trying to spring. And trains are still a huge hit with the twins.

Day 423

Happy Mothers' Day! It was a bit weird. Matt was out of town, so Jamie stayed home with the five Regusci "littles" while Tracy, Nana, and Fina (and the foster twins) worked Sunday School all morning. About noon, Jamie took Lexi over to the church and grabbed Fina to hit Carls Jr. on the way to her Sound of Music rehearsal. The quiche lorraine we picked up at Marigold yesterday turned out to be wonderful. We got Matt home from the airport later in the afternoon and voila, we were back to full strength. Nana's been doing some online car shopping...
