AJ's Choir Trophy

AJ's school choir went to Elitch Gardens (a Denver amusement park) today to "not compete" in a choir competition. And, of course, have a lot of fun at the park, too! And guess what? His choir got a "Superior" trophy! Each singer got to hold the trophy for a photo.

Mothers' Day 2023

Mothers' Day had a couple specialties this year, including the Dekortes from California and flowers galore.

Senior Send Off

A time-honored tradition at Discovery Canyon Campus (DCC) is the matriculating class hike up "the canyon" (a long, narrow courtyard totally within the confines of the buildings). This is followed by a Send-Off assembly in the gym. All the pics are here.

AJ's Concert Accompanied by a Tornado Watch

AJ's Concert Choir did their last concert of the year this evening. As if that wasn't enough, we had a Tornado Watch today. (A tornado actually touched down northeast of Denver.) And, Nana finished her paper-pieced quilt - not just quilting and binding.

Together Every School Morning

No matter what went on getting up, having breakfast, packing lunches, seating arrangements in the van, etc., these two always march in together.

Red Robin

We finally got our trip to Red Robin in for AJ's birthday. ALL the kids are big fans of bottomless root beer floats and bottomless fries! And Matteo got a fishing trip to Palmer Lake later in the afternoon. He reported an active day and caught maybe 20 fish. Meanwhile, back in the car, Papa worked on his lines for the June Melodrama.
