Day 151

Big day for Matteo... He and a small family contingent visited the Evangelical Christian Academy for a tour, looking at school options for the Fall. Turns out it's much like SLOCA where he and some siblings attended a couple years back in California. Jamie taught there a couple years, too. Matteo was excited enough about going here to put up with a more stringent dress code. Lexi makes her own party when there isn't one otherwise. One quilt is done! Jamie, Lynn, and Fina went up to Wheat Ridge (near Golden) to have dinner with Rachel in the aftermath of Danya's passing. The Rambling Rose turned out to be AOK! Was pretty fun catching up a little. Fina had us stop at a Fat Shack on the way out of Wheat Ridge. OMG. We all agreed the deep fried Oreo one was the best (of the three we tried).

Day 150

Kinda like a sesquicentennial. Wow. Off to TimberCreek Church for the morning. Good thing we got a picture of the puzzle early today. Next time I saw it, it was being torn apart and put back in the box. That was a quickie! Jamie spent most of the afternoon working on his God is Good class.

Day 149

About mid-morning the action began. First, off to Lewis Palmer Middle School for an AJ baseball game. Then to Rosie's Diner for a man's meal, a Handyman that is. The boys were beside themselves. Next, fishing at Monument Lake. AJ and Papa scooted home a little early, but Matteo and Matt stuck it out and it paid off. Fina went to a new babysitting client tonight. She's developing quite a reputation for sitting special-needs kids. More of The 4400 for Lynn and Jamie tonight. What if promycin (sp?) is spelled ProMySin? Ooooooo.

Day 148

I should have been counting puzzles as well as days... Lexi has been bit by the playing cards bug. Today's card game was a matching game. At the pool 5-8pm. The new thing today was "swimmers' whack-a-mole." There was also some dog whack-a-mole earlier.

Day 147

Waffles for breakfast! Miniature golf for fun! A card matching game for more fun! A new cookie source for even more fun. And baseball. AJ walked, scored, and got 2 RBIs with a solid hit to the outfield; very exciting. He got to play 3rd base for the first time, too.

Day 146

It's always fun to see what new home decorations might pop up. Fina made a special birthday package for a friend - who likes green. Jamie was back at the Flying Horse Ranch today after the 3-week COVID precaution ended. D20 school district revised its reopening plans, much to this family's chagrin. Not sure where we're headed on that yet. Dinner was pork tenderloin, asparagus, and garlic bread. And nothing better than a rousing round of "Old Mare" before bed or some time in the evening out on the deck after a rain.

The "dis" pile.

Fina's questions today.

Day 145

Lexi began the day entertaining the baby a bit. He just laughs and laughs. Papa took the boys fishing to Monument Lake. They didn't catch anything, but Matteo made friends with another fisherman who gave him his catch, stringer and all. Matt helped him clean and cook the trout. Jamie did the first session of his "God is Good" course.

Just kidding, this is in Bass Pro where we got some bait.

A Volvo P210 at Monument Lake.
Not sure how rare this is, but I've never seen one.
