The Wizard of Oz

We closed this show today following one show last night and two today. Antonio played Scarecrow; Lexi played a Munchkin, a Poppy, and a Flying Monkey; and Jamie was the Music Director. Tracy got involved, too, with various backstage duties including mics (she got to wear her "I'm wearing black you can't see me" shirt). Nana and Fina got sucked in, too, for make-up skills. The show was produced by Rise Christian Arts. Below are some pics and tidbits mostly from tech week and after performances. P.S. Was not familiar with the Jitterbug scene (it's not in the movie) - it became a favorite (among many favorites).

There was a lot of make-up practicing and application.

Poppy at right.

Flying Monkey

Jamie's view of the show - running music/sound cues.

Scarecrow: "It's so green."

Lynn, Tracy, and Vickie all got in on making over 100
of these for a rehearsal treat one night.

Various friends came to see the show!

Nana is always in support mode
and the biggest cheerleader.

With Aunt Vickie - who really
did blow in from Kansas. Thank goodness
she was in town to plug many holes.

Artwork: Quilts and Makeup

The quilt is done. But the makeup for The Wizard of Oz is a work in progress.

Still arranging...

Solar Eclipse

Turns out that Nana, Papa, and Brahm were at home during the Solar Eclipse. And yes, we checked in on it a few times while having lunch and making spaghetti for dinner. Some of the kids got to see it at school, too. Next one for Colorado will be in August of 2045 and the path of 100% totality will go across much of Colorado.

We made our own solar artwork (photo)... With an Old Fashioned.

Max for our area was about 68%.

Yesterday our two Wizard of Oz actors distributed
posters to various businesses near us. This was Carl's Jr.
Our last stop was Josh & John's Ice Cream!

The Children's Hospital helicopter happened to be
parked at the hospital when we dropped Tracy
off for work this morning.

Easter 2024

I think the various puzzles might have been the big hit for Easter this year... All the photos are here.

On a Wednesday?!

Well, it was Spring Break for the School kids... Which meant everyone was a little more free from schedule responsibilities than normal.

Jonny and Lexi helped make dessert for Family Dinner tonight.

Lexi and Jonny's chocolate creation.

Nana's piecing a new quilt design.

Nana and Papa visited Urban Tandoor - great discovery.
