Day 126

Apparently all I got photos of today was AJ's baseball game. It was raining when we arrived at the field, but gradually got lighter and lighter. They got the whole game in. It was a heavy car maintenance day. One got a major service done and all three got baths. Oh, and Matt gave blood for the first time since his youth. And didn't pass out (unlike that first time). Nana and Papa watched Spanglish.

AJ is yellow shirt #2.

On to second.

He scored.

AJ loves catching.

High fives are out, cap wave and bow are in. Yellow won by one.

Day 125

Almost a normal day. Jamie and Lynn are back from Idaho and Vickie is here on her way to Breckenridge. Matt whipped up some pork and asparagus to go with the homemade cheddar bay biscuits. As some of us went to bed, others were still watching NUMB3RS.

Up-cycling.

Day 124

Jamie and Lynn completed their journey home from Idaho, but not before stopping for lunch at Scileppi's in Castle Rock. "Communion" is a drink they have: Hendrick's gin, elderflower liquor, lime juice, basil, and soda water. Love the creamy carbonara, too. Got home to find Aunt Vickie there. She's on her way to join up with some friends in Breckenridge, getting acclimated to the altitude here first.

Scileppi's is in the old stone church (1888).

Sunday School stuff is arriving.

Lexi's art area is out of control.

Sending a pic to Rob. Bacon! Lexi asked where Aunt Vickie's grandfather was.

Baked potato smorgasbord.

On to the next puzzle...

Day 123

Play time in Idaho is over; time to head home. We took a different route between Rock Springs and Idaho Falls, this time via I-15 and US 30. It was also scenic, more evenly scenic, and more civilization dots along the way. We went all the way to Rawlins, WY where we had a very fun meal at Buck's.

Largest menu ever.

There was so much stuff I didn't even notice the railroad stuff for quite a while.

Rawlins' train depot.

Tracy said it was definitely the hardest puzzle of COVID, and maybe all time.

Day 122

Well, we know one thing that went on at the Compound today... Fina got behind the wheel again! Meanwhile, Jamie and Lynn played in Idaho Falls all day. They visited the Friendship Garden, the River Walk, the Zoo, brunch at Smokin Fins, and dinner at Jalisco's. All the day's photos are here.

Day 121

Jamie and Lynn started their day exploring the southeast area of town and Jamie also ran the Railroad Museum's Parlor Car Chat very remotely and quite mobile today, too. They ended up at Smokin Fins for lunch.  Lynn had a Birkenstock Benedict, very good, and Jamie had Hangover Mac and Cheese, also very good. Then they went and checked out some camping and RV type sites and related activities way north near Ririe. Finally, dinner at Jaker's. Cap steak is the bomb. We understand the Reguscis hit the pool this evening.

Day 120

Jamie and Lynn headed out from Rock Springs, WY to Idaho Falls, ID. The first part of the trip north from Rock Springs on 191 is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere with not much to look at. But once you get past Pinedale, WY you're getting into Tetons country, much more interesting pretty much all the way to Idaho Falls.

Had to have before leaving Rock Springs.

Along Palisades Lake in the Targhee National Forest

SnakeBites in Idaho Falls. Quite good. Lynn had a wonderful shrimp pasta
dish and Jamie had a great burger with to-die-for fries with "fry sauce."

If only it indicated which railroad!

In the "old downtown" area.

Heavy traffic.

In Rigby, a small town just north of Idaho Falls.

TV-famous for some reason.

Dinner.

Driving in to Idaho Falls on 26.

Meanwhile, pool time back at the ranch.
