Day 56

Penultimate school day of the week. Only two more weeks to go, but who's counting?! Sorry, didn't get many pics today, but took a fair amount of video. Maybe you'll see some of it later. Serafina's joining a virtual chorus ("long distance music project") to do a song (TBD) led by Jeannie Robbins (music director for Sister Act that Jamie was in last Spring, among lots of other music/theater credits). Matt and Jamie joined the weekly TimberCreek Security and Safety Team virtual meeting which we we've been doing almost every Thursday at 5pm since this lockdown stuff began. Great group of guys and it sure is nice to stay "in touch" somehow. By my calculations, our little team of two has about 50 hours in and at least 125 hours to go to complete the Give! database cleanup project. PF Chang's for dinner! Tonight's movie: The Italian Job.

Fun with geometric shapes.

Jamie's first rehearsal take for Voices Beyond the Veil (Village Arts).

Parlor Car Chats. Got the go ahead after a test run today with a couple people.
A new program for the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum.

Day 55

The big deal of the day was a trip to the School in the Woods area to let some of us, who had not been out there previously, see the school and hike around. A highlight was running into Mr. Weurth (from a proper distance, of course). The school is on a piece of pine forest property of about one square mile and located just over six miles due east of our house. The area is known as Black Forest Section 16. All the hike photos are here. Some of us will be returning to visit the pond (AJ's doing a pond study for his Spring Project). The cleaners were back for the first time since the lockdown, so we were very happy to get out of their way. Matt grilled up some tri-tip, chicken, and asparagus for dinner. Movies: The Descendants and I Spy.

Fina was scheduled for a sleep study in a few weeks, but got a call this evening that there had been a cancellation and could she come in right now. So she did. Nighty night.

Tracy (Facebook): Sam turned 18 today. In the midst of a global pandemic at a base in Georgia he turned 18! Fourteen years ago he moved into our lives, 3 years later we had the joy of official adopting him. Together we have had amazing moments, crazy moments, and tough ones. But in this last year he has amazed us the most, earning his GED, joining the Army, and graduating without the joy of being able to have us there, all without being shaken!!! We can’t wait to celebrate graduation and 18yrs when we can all be together again! Love you @sam_regusci!! (Also how in the world is my eldest 18yrs old!!!!!)

Happy Birthday, Sam!

Clutter-free for the cleaners!

We think the yard guys are basically re-installing the sprinkler lines.

The baby had to join e-learning today.

AJ thrived at this school. All the SITW hike photos are here.

Day 54

We learned first thing this morning that Lynn's brother, Lee, passed away overnight. He stopped breathing in his sleep and never awoke. It wasn't expected but wasn't a total surprise either; he had health issues. The family is mostly in California and other points west, but there is one daughter here in Aurora, CO.

Start of another e-learning week. Only 12 more days. Fina jumped on this week's ACT Spotlight challenge because dance and because an old theater friend, Trevyn, was leading it. It's for a M-W-F video show they've been putting out since the lockdowns called The Intermission Show. Each Monday their education group puts out a challenge for students and then pieces together all the submittals into a montage for the Friday show. Click here to see Fina's submitted video. Fina and Papa did many a show at SLORep back in California (see our Theater page). It's Lynn's turn to get her hair done today. The Regusci clan had homemade tacos while the Fosters did curbside pickup at Ted's Montana Grill (bison meatloaf!). Tonight's movie for Nana and Papa: Back to the Future.

Home inside the home. Inside with her she had a drink,
markers, post-its, scotch tape, all the creature comforts.

Jonny joined in the home-inside-a-home game.

The landscape crew is finding all kinds of sprinkler leaks.
Five of the guys moved one of the boulders to replace a crushed line.
And there are more broken lines...

Yes, that's Fina.

Learning the dance for ACT Spotlight.

Rock Cycle - love it!

Lynn's anxious to get the masks done so she can get back to quilting.

Day 53

Fina: "Let's get food from the Out. We can eat it in the In, but I want it to come from the Out. I want to go out into the Out to get it. Can we get food from the Out?"

You'll be glad to know she got dinner from the Out which we ate in the In (MOD Pizza).

Tonight's movie: Fun with Dick and Jane.

Lots of help making lunch. All the kids were around the stove at one point.

This is where the "out into the Out" monologue began.

Nana thought this was quilt abuse.

Day 52

Another kinda meandering day. Lots of watering (after we determined there was a sprinkler system leak). The boys got their COVID Cuts today. Some church activities (from home, of course), including Communion this morning. The remaining tomato plants went to a friend's house for final planting. We finally figured out how to watch the evening news - every time someone says "China" you have to sip your drink. Dinner was popcorn after our big Vaqueros take-out lunch. Tonight's movie: Unstoppable. Great train movie, don't sweat the details, enjoy the story and filming.

Simba and Nala (not sure which is which).

Wow, the highlights are strong in this one.

Matt threatened to leave it this way, but it did get finished.

Some more online gaming with California friends.

Prepping for the church high school Zoom get together.

Day 51

Pretty quiet day for the boys. Spent most of the day ambling through making dinner, spaghetti and ceasar salad. On the other hand, Tracy, Lynn, and Tracy spent all day delivering TimberCreek Kids packets from east of Falcon to Rockrimmon to Monument. The puppies got groomed. Tonight's movie: Going in Style. On a personal note, I've been much more outspoken about the country's state of affairs on Facebook than I've been for the last many years. We'll see how many friends I have left.

Tracy sent out a Facebook Live video saying,
"Here we come!"

Fueled by electricity and Cheez-its.

Day 50

50. Let that sink in. Dinner: rib eye and ceasar salad.

Fina started a bead-by-number project.

TimberCreek Kids bags ready to go tomorrow.

The video was about possums.
